Welcome to ECARS

We welcome you to the East Coast Amateur Radio Service web site.

ECARS began operation in 1968 as an Amateur Radio public service net for mobile operators on 7.255 MHz.

You need not be an ECARS member or mobile to check into the nets. We look forward to your checking in on 7.255 MHz.

Article Needed

Vince, K1AH, is looking for articles for the next edition of The Monitor.    He is happy to discuss  and work with you to develop any idea that you might have for an article.

Show us Your Shack

All of us take pride in our Shack so share you pride with your fellow ECARS members.  Follow the link on the left to view member's shacks.

You can send a picture of your Shack to Vince, k1ah@cox.net, for inclusion in the slide show.

New Net Manager

John Zorger, WA1STU, of Gainesville, Va., a long time ECARS member and supporter, has agreed to take on the job of Net Manager effective January 1, 2012 until Bob, W4WZR, is ready to resume that duty.   Bob supports this plan enthusiastically.

John  will be the NCS contact person dealing with scheduling and other net issues.   Luke asks that all of you will give him the support and consideration which you have shown to both him and Bob.

Keep up the great work you have all been doing to make ECARS continue to be a great  organization.
